July 1st, 2018, Edison, NJ – Founded on July 1st, 1983, Continental Logistics was initially developed to service freight from Tyler Distribution (Port Jersey Logistics’ warehousing operation) outside of the Northeast region, which wasn’t being handled by the existing Port Jersey Transportation operation. By providing nationwide transportation coverage, Continental filled in service gaps allowing the Port Jersey companies and their clients to grow. Over the years, Continental itself grew into a full-service transportation management and logistics services provider, offering service to clients outside of Tyler Distribution. Throughout its history, Continental Logistics has focused on consistently growing its carrier-base and service offerings while maintaining strict compliance and client satisfaction levels.
When asked about the evolution of Continental Logistics, President and CEO Rob Russo stated “we are very proud of Continental’s continued evolution and excited to have celebrated 35 years. The team at Continental Logistics is second to none, and they are laser focused on our customers’ needs and on-going solutions development. I’m looking forward to the next chapters of this great story”
Erik Holck, Director of Business Development, added “Continental has evolved from a small-scale traffic management service into a full-service nationwide freight management solution. The scope of services and capabilities have expanded so that we aren’t just doing the simple things any more, we are getting into more advanced solutions such as multi-mode transportation.”
